Ilfracombe was a coastal town in the south-west of England. It looked out over the entrance to the Bristol Channel.
Nearby towns included Barnstaple to the south-east. Local small towns and villages included Combe Martin to the east, Trimstone to the south and Woolacombe to the south-west. To the east of the town was Exmoor National Park and to the west was Morte Point. Ilfracombe was located at the northernmost end of the A361. There was a lighthouse just west of Ilfracombe.
Ilfracombe appeared on Mary Cooper's map of overflow camps in and around Wales in 2011. (TV: The Categories of Life)
