Hawkswick was a village in North Yorkshire. In 1918, Hawkswick Hall was converted into a convalescent home for shell-shocked WWI soldiers. The amnesiac Eighth Doctor visited Hawkswick to investigate reports of livestock mutilations and dead soldiers conducting night manoeuvres. (PROSE: Casualties of War)
