George Smythe was the husband of Patricia Smythe and the father of Mark and Josie Smythe.
In 2004, Patricia began an affair with another man, and around Christmas time, told George that she was leaving him for her new lover. Devastated, George trapped her, himself and their children in a time loop that meant that they had to relive Christmas Day over and over again. When the First Doctor and his companions also became trapped in George's time loop, he convinced George to break the loop, freeing Patricia and allowing her to run off with her lover.
