Elya was a former enemy of Kady Williams, host of the Gestalt, who became a friend and travelling companion to Kady. She had "creepy", wide blue eyes. Elya eventually died after betraying Kady again to try and take the Gestalt for herself. Feeling guilty over the events surrounding Elya's death, Kady kept a portrait of her in the control room of her timeship, as she did with her other companions. (PROSE: Ring Theory)
