Eleanor Blake was a mathematician, linguist and codebreaker who came to travel with Alpha Wheeler after an adventure shared with the Seventh Doctor, Chris Cwej and Roz Forrester.
Biography
Eleanor Blake was born in the entranceway to Manchester tram station to Richard and Janice Blake on 4 August 1911. She was assigned male at birth and named "David" but, by the 1940s, was living as the woman that she had always known that she was. She studied pure mathematics and linguistics at Imperial College and specialised in codes, a skill that she used to assist the British in the Second World War.
Upon completing a puzzle in a newspaper and following clues, Eleanor met Alpha Wheeler, Zsa Zsa Straus and Binkum Fray and travelled with them to an island, being joined by the Seventh Doctor, Roz Forrester and Chris Cwej on the way. She solved the puzzle that activated the timer for the self-destruct system and found a blaster which she drew on Fray in an attempt to stop him from revealing that she was transgender. Fray and the Jabari chased her and Chris, who was unconcerned and gave her a kiss when Fray shouted out her secret. She and Chris later defeated the Jabari with salt.
Eleanor learnt that attitudes on Earth towards her identity would not improve until the 21st century and, feeling that she owed no loyalty to the British as a result, she chose to join Alpha in flying into space and curing those infected by the Jabari.
