Chris Boucher

Chris Boucher (15 February 1943-11 December 2022[1]) was an important contributor to the Fourth Doctor era of Doctor Who.

He penned three stories and was responsible for the creation of the companion Leela, whose name he derived from freedom fighter Leila Khaled. (DCOM: The Robots of Death)

The Kaldor City audio series is based on characters and locations from Boucher's Doctor Who and Blake's 7 stories. He was creative consultant on the series and wrote the second release, Death's Head.

He shared his memories of The Robots of Death on the audio commentary for the story's original DVD release in 2001.

Until his death, he was the last surviving Doctor Who television writer to have written for the series in the 1970s.
