Kwaben (pronounced KWAH-behn) is one of the Duke's Guard. He is over 6'-0" tall and a deft fighter.
Biography
In 1039 KF when Lady Sandrilene fa Toren comes to look after her great-uncle Duke Vedris, Kwaben and Oama are assigned to be Sandry's personal guards while she stays at Duke's Citadel. He is a very thorough guard, and never shirks his duty to Sandry or the duke. He is shown to be a bit wary of magic though, and he and his partner both show fear or discomfort when Sandry uses her magic to help catch the Dihanurs and their unmage. He says that although they knew she did have magic, they also noticed that she was careful to keep her power to herself because she knew it made people uncomfortable.
He also is there to witness the death of the harrier-mage Wulfric Snaptrap as they all walked into a trap. He grabs Sandry, throws her from the room, and does battle with the murderers.
He and his partner accept Sandry's stubbornness and constant breaks from her nobility. They also are aware of how powerful she is, because of the first time they came in contact with her. When the duke at his first heart attack, she insisted that she come in to see him. When the servants continued to refuse, she had every thread in the room cocoon all of the people except the duke, his healers, and herself.
