Shroud

Shroud DevGame1

The Shroud (a.k.a. demon shroud)[1] is an Infernal gameplay mechanic in Stormgate. It is a field of dark magic,[2] sourced through converted animus.[3] The Shroud corrupts the land it covers.[4]

Game Effect

The Shroud is produced by shroudstones and shrines.[3] It allows an Infernal player to cast ritual spells to buff their units.[5] Infernal structures do not need to be built on the Shroud. Any Infernal unit standing on it will fill up a secondary health bar. This "white health" begins to degrade when the unit is no longer on the Shroud.[6]

Notes

In both gameplay and lore, the Shroud bears resemblance to creep from StarCraft, and blight from Warcraft.
