- For the 28th century Rigellian, see Attendant (New Khitomer).
The Attendants (also referred to as Drantzuli by the Tzenkethi) are an insect-like race and the caretakers of the Hur'q. First encounter with the Drantzuli was in 2410, in the Dranuur System, when a few of them hatched from germanium eggs found by the Lukari on Dranuur's moon.
Physiology
Like the other races which evolved on Havas-Kul, Drantzuli are germanium-based creatures, smaller than the Hur'q, and their appearance somewhat reflects small scuttling beetles. Similar to the Hur'q, the attendants go through a hibernation cycle but seem to awake before them, possibly to prepare everything for the Hur'q return.
Logs found on Havas-Kul by the Alliance team suggest that while the Hur'q hibernate, the attendants look after them, protecting and maintaining planet's ecosystem and their technology.
Missions encountered
“Melting Pot”: Drantzuli hatch from germanium eggs and start wreaking havoc all over joint Lukari-Kentari colony. Alliance officer, assisted by Tzenkethi ground team led by Neth Parr put an end to their threat.
“Turn the Tide”: Jem'Hadar First fights the attendants, as well as other Hur'q, while attempting to exfiltrate Tzenkethi Admiral Aarn Tzen-Tarrak.
“Storm Clouds Gather”: Hur'q forces attack Deep Space Nine during a meeting between the Alliance and the Dominion.
“Armistice”: Attendants are part of a Hur'q ground force which attacks the prison colony in the Olt System.
“The Search”: Drawn to a signal from the Dominion emitter, Hur'q attack Karemma.
“Doomed to Repeat”: Hur'q attack an ancient Dominion facility, sending a large ground force, including the attendants, to take the station apart.
“Home”: Hur'q forces are present during the assault on Empersa, the Founder Homeworld.
Notes

- In “Melting Pot”, the attendants were referred to simply as Drantzuli and had unique faction emblem (seen to the right). In the Victory is Life storyline, no more mentions of the Drantzuli were made (except for logs about the caretaker race) and the attendant ground mobs were marked as Hur'q and shared their emblem.
- Killing Drantzuli-marked mobs in Melting Pot still counts as progress towards Hur'q kill accolades.
