Vamdar was one of three Klingon brothers who served as Matan's top lieutenants among the Solarii in the early 25th Century. (Star Trek Online: Valkyries)
History
Origins
Vamdar and his brothers crashed on the planet Yamatai in the Dragon's Head Nebula in late 2386. Vamdar was the oldest of the three, with Durtlhor and Nikora both being younger than him. Matan privately described them in his logs at the time as "broken in the storms" and "strong of body and weak of will." He rescued them and they became the founding members of the Solarii Brotherhood. They also became the second highest leadership in the cult after Matan himself. Among their privileges was the right to keep and use modern weapons without special permission from Matan. Vamdar used a Klingon disruptor as his weapon of choice, despite the fact that its fire selector was damaged and it was stuck on a "kill" setting.
As time went on they became increasingly abusive of this power, considering themselves largely above the rules enforced on other members of the brotherhood. Vamdar in particular was known for casually executing other Solarii for getting in his way and for sexually assaulting females captured by the cult, despite explicit orders from Matan not to do so.
Death
In 2407, Vamdar led a Solarii hunting party in attempting to capture the survivors of a Starfleet shuttle crash off the coast of the Main Island. He succeeded in capturing Mor and Carlin Agran, but while preparing to sexually assault Carlin he was interrupted by the objections of a Deltan member of the Solarii, whom he immediately killed. In the ensuing chaos both Mor and Carlin managed to escape into the ruins of an ancient settlement. Vamdar ordered the ruins burned down to force the survivors out of hiding and succeeded in recapturing Carlin, but was subsequently killed by her using his own disruptor pistol while she defended herself from another attempted sexual assault. His death inspired his brothers, Durtlhor and Nikora to seek revenge on Carlin, eventually leading to their deaths as well. ("Survivors of Yamatai")
