• Stardate 52281.3: The new Sovereign-class starship USS Dauntless (NCC-75310), the third Federation starship to bear the name, is launched from Fleet Yards over Vulcan, under the command of Fleet Captain Peter J. Koester. (Star Trek: Dauntless)

• stardate 52162.8: The astrometrics lab, dubbed the "war room," is opened on the USS Baldwin. With help from the lab, Baldwin captain Patrick Ingrum discovers and thwarts a Jem'Hadar ambush on the Fifth Fleet. (USS Baldwin: "Danger Zone")
• The Sovereign-class starship USS Excelsior joins Task Force 38, the front line of defense for the Iconian Gateway that opened up Starfleet's territory to a hard won sector of the Delta Quadrant. (Star Trek: Excelsior: "There you are")

• The USS Phoenix-X takes up command of a small fleet at the Flortarios sector, next to Dominion-controlled space. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Home, Part II")

• The USS Phoenix-X relinquishes command of the small fleet early, although the squad remains operating as a unit for a short time after. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Loyalties, Part I")

November

• 16 November:: The Breen Raid on San Francisco occurs. The Breen inflict major casualties on Earth. Among the survivors is Ensign Melissa Sharp, a researcher. The 10th Squadron of the Fifth Fleet attempt to contain the damage. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil"; USS Baldwin: "Trouble in Paradise")
• The Second Battle of Chin'toka:
  • 23 November: The Second Battle of Chin'toka occurs, resulting in a decisive Dominion victory. The 10th Squadron of the Fifth Fleet is assigned to guard Earth and help devise a countermeasure for the Breen energy dissipator. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil"; USS Baldwin: "Resolution")
  • The USS Vigilant is destroyed in the battle. Lieutenant Commander Vanessa Yates is taken as a prisoner of war. (Star Trek Crusader)
  • After 23 November: Following the battle, the USS Lapon leads a small reserve fleet into the Chin'toka system in an effort to rescue survivors. Many lives are saved before the fleet is chased off by Dominion forces. (STNO: "Eclipse")

Assignments and promotions

• The Sovereign-class starship USS Illustrious (NCC-75310), under construction at Fleet Yards over Vulcan, is renamed USS Dauntless in honor of the recently lost Intrepid-class starship of the same name and placed under the command of Fleet Captain Peter Koester. (Star Trek: Dauntless)
• Aleczahnder Lohrok enrolls in Starfleet Academy on an accelerated 2 year training program. (Star Trek: Excelsior)
• Vanessa Yates is given the position of first officer on the USS Expedition, and promoted to the rank of Commander. (Star Trek Crusader)
