Zynk is a robot member of the Shining Force. A relic from a forgotten civilisation, Zynk was a good friend of Maximillian and, together, they were able to defeat Zeon and seal him in the Ancient Tower on Granseal Island. The robot is supposedly the property of Baron Kadavaar. Zynk has a funnel on his back to allow smoke to escape. He also wears a constantly alarmed expression.
Upon learning that the Zeonites planned to free their master, Zynk flew to Granseal to find his old friend. Soon after, Baron Kadavaar arrived to take his robot back and Zynk was unable to break free from Kadavaar's golem's grip. Zynk, Bowie and Taya were teleported outside by Max but Zynk urged his new friends not to rescue Max. He then took them to Hassan but got them all into trouble when centaur Chester believed Zynk to be a Zeonite.
With no magic or weapons, Zynk merely accompanied the Shining Force on their way to Ribble and was unable to protect Bowie from a Zeonite's gun. He later joined the team in the Ancient Tower and revealed that the nuclear bomb the villains were about to use could destroy half of Granseal Island. Zynk ordered Bowie to use his sword to open the abyss, then helped to push the bomb and destroyed Zeon.

- Zynk was a character in the Shining Force II video game, but he looks nothing like his Sonic the Comic appearance.
