Spiker is a second-generation Badnik created by Doctor Robotnik. It walks from side to side with the aim of hitting enemies. If anybody should try and jump over the Badnik, Spiker can launch his conical spike straight into the air, easily impaling threats. Spiker can also walk on ceilings, enabling it to drop the cone straight down onto unwitting people's heads.
Spiker has never appeared in a Sonic the Comic strip, but was one of the Badniks featured in the Sonic's World feature in Sonic the Summer Special. It was also the subject of a pin-up in Issue 68 by Ferran Rodriguez.
The Badnik's only STC-related strip was in the second of The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Yearbooks. Spiker was one of two native Hill Top Zone Badniks (the other being Rexon) to threaten Sonic the Hedgehog, firing its cone directly at him. He was then utilised to carry a frozen Sonic out of a hole but was later destroyed by a Spin Attack when Sonic freed himself.
Spiker finally made a full appearance in Sonic the Comic Online as one of the Badniks sent to attack Sonic on the Wing Fortress.
