Nerve gas is a chemical compound classified as a "weapon of mass destruction". It works by disrupting the nerves of its target, blocking vital actions such as breathing as well as producing several other undesirable side-effects like convulsions, vomiting and spontaneous defecation. This weapon was utilised by the Neo Zeed in the early nineties as an obstacle all fledgling ninjas must navigate before they can qualify. Upon discovering intruder Joe Musashi in their building, The Void put him through this test, with the nerve gas seemingly proving fatal to the hero. Actually, Musashi had decided to fool his attackers, falling into a deep state of prana. This had the dual effect of keeping him alive through the attack, whilst also appearing dead to all lookers. When he felt the time was right, Musashi came out of prana with no ill effects from the gas.
