Chess is a 2-player strategy board game played on Mobius and Planet Earth. The game involves two teams of playing pieces attempting to remove the other team's units from the game until the "King" is in an unescapable situation.
The only time chess has ever been seen in Sonic the Comic Online is as part of a game between Max Gamble and the hidden Don Long-Legs. The criminals were playing their match when Sonic the Hedgehog burst into the Roulette Palace and interrogated Gamble about Sonic's imposter. The pair continued to play during the meeting, with Long-Legs passing on his instructions to move from a dark corner. One play seen during the story involved Long-Legs using his pawn to capture Gamble's Queen, a move that could easily have been spotted and averted earlier. Also, when Gamble takes Long-Legs move for him, there appears to be no other pieces on the table. Finally, a castle appears to be on the line between two squares.
