Cats are mammals who can be found on Earth and Mobius. They are known to exist in the standard domesticated form, often kept as pets by humans, and big cats such as lions, tigers and leopards. Interestingly, on Mobius, cats exist as both anthropomorphic Mobian varieties and their Earthly counterparts, as seen in Return of the Nightmare.

- Ebony - Magic user and owner of The Groovy Train cafe.
- Big - Fisherman-turned-chef, and all-round nice guy.
- Simpson - Amateur pirate, and pastiche of 1920s cartoon characters.
- Blaze - Mysterious girl from the future with power over fire.
- Fleabyte the Bounty Hunter - Villainous enemy of Tails.
- Cam - One half of B.A.R.F..
- Cat Adie - News reporter from Metropolis Zone.
- Red - Head technician in the Oil Ocean Zone.
- Tom Manx - Also known as "Kat O'Three Tails". Had multiple tails to complete household chores.
- Carruthers - Businesswoman from the Metropolis Zone who, thanks to Alf Garment, turned to crime.
- Jeremy Burton - Young boy captured by the Doctor Robotnik Appreciation Tribe (disguised as the Brotherhood of Metallix.
- Wals or Ingham - Household Keepers from the Hill Top Zone.
- Dermot Delirious - Presenter of The Ultimax-Eye.
- Russell Bland - Delirious' co-presenter.
- Robotnikat - A future version of Doctor Ivo Robotnik.
