Bert is a bull and a former member of B.A.R.F.. Working alongside Cam, Bert is the "handyman" in the team, primarily responsible for piecing together Badniks when they have been destroyed by Sonic the Hedgehog or his friends. His tools of choice are his hammers, namely the No.1 Hammer, No.2 Hammer and No.3 Hammer models. When he isn't hammering something, he's busy thinking about hammering.
History
Having been part of B.A.R.F. for some time, Bert was called to the Green Hill Zone to repair some broken Moto Bugs. The bull relentlessly smashed the bugs back into shape whilst Cam removed the Nicenik virus implanted by Sonic. Later, a furious Bert used his hammer to smash a Trooper that had let two Niceniks get away. He was then called into action to blow up the Triple-S, a balloon with Sonic's face on the front, to weed out the Niceniks. Bert soon grew tired of the plan after "testing" over 200 hundred Moto Bugs. When he finally found the Niceniks, he used his biggest hammer to smash up the Niceniks before later jumping on one, smashing it to pieces. Using his repairing skills, Bert created a new Badniks and crammed two organic battery rabbits into it.
Bert later returned with a new uniform and an even larger obsession with hammers. He appeared to have lost a few brain cells in the previous year, childishly pretending to be in the Thunderbirds before being amazed that Doctor Robotnik knew the location of the Miracle Planet. In the Palmtree Panic Zone, Bert displayed his authority by smashing an Anton, convincing the other Badniks to enter the Ark Pod. Back in the Green Hill Zone, Bert realised things weren't going well with Robotnik's plan and allowed Cam to mount his shoulders, creating a two-tiered attack against the Palmtree Panic refugees. Bert attempted to get the foes on his side, using his hammer once again, but was less succeessful. He later enacted Cam's plan to create The Seven Badniks.
