A Zakool was a cat-like creature native to the forest moon of Endor. They appeared to be carnivorous but were not known to attack the Ewoks who lived on the moon. Zakools had dark fur and sharp claws which allowed them to scale trees to an extent.
During the return of the Raich, the creature used its special ability to control animals, to turn a Zakool against the young Ewoks, Teebo and Latara. Luckily, the Raich was eventually defeated by Wicket Wystri Warrick, and the Zakool left the scene, uninterested in the small prey.
