Thurian trees were a type of tall tree featuring green leaves that could be found on the Outer Rim planet Chandar's Folly. While on Chandar's Folly[1] in 14 BBY,[2] Governor Wilhuff Tarkin led a group to hunt the Sith Lord Darth Vader, and several of the trees were near their camp. On the second day of their pursuit, the group tracked Vader to a copse of thurian trees. They surrounded him with flamethrowers and engulfed the Sith Lord in flames, though Vader ultimately escaped the area.[1]
Behind the scenes
Thurian trees appeared in the eighteenth issue of the 2017 comic-book series Star Wars: Darth Vader. The issue was written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on July 11, 2018.[3]
