Sheeli

"We have Choster's sister. So either way, someone is going to pay. Hand over Choster or we kill the sister...I doubt you want her blood on your hands."
Cale Serasai, to a Lok Revenant[1]

Sheeli was a female Twi'lek who lived on Lok during the Galactic Civil War. She was the sister of Choster.

Biography

"We want Choster. If we don't get Choster, the female Twi'lek dies!"
―Cale Serasai, to a Lok Revenant[1]

Sheeli had a brother, a skilled engineer named Choster.[1] At some point, Choster was recruited to set up the defenses of the secret hideout of the Sulfur Lake Pirates. Then, he barely escaped death when the pirates attempted to assassinate him when the job was done rather than pay him.[2]

In 1 ABY,[3] Choster eagerly accepted to help Nym's Lok Revenants, the enemies of the Sulfur Lake Pirates, to raid the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout. However, the pirates then discovered that Choster was involved in the attack. As the engineer was protected by Nym, the pirates instead captured Sheeli. A meeting later took place in Kimogila Town between the Lok Revenants and the Sulfur Lake Pirates. There, the pirate Cale Serasai revealed that they had captured Sheeli and threatened to kill her if the Revenants did not hand over Choster to him. A firefight soon erupted between the two groups of criminals. Although the Lok Revenants were outnumbered, they successfully defended themselves and killed most of the pirates. Cale Serasai survived the fight and was forced to release Sheeli in exchange for his life. The woman was eventually freed and brought to a secret location under the protection of Nym.[1]

Behind the scenes

Sheeli appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Sheeli was added to the game as part of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park,"[1] released with the "Game Update 16," on March 23, 2010.[5]

  3. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
