Myykians[3] were a species of elephantine humanoids that lived in the galaxy. The species possessed blue skin[1] and was elephantine in appearance,[2] including a long trunk-like nose and two eyes. They could also possess a head of hair. The youngling Neel and his family were members of the species.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "And, no, Neel isn't the same species as Max Rebo. We asked."
- ―Kristin Baver, on StarWars.com
The Myykian species[3] was created for the character Neel, who appears in the live-action television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, where he is portrayed by Robert Timothy Smith using a combination of facial motion capture on-set performance in a costume and an animatronic head.[5] In response to fan debate as to whether Neel was an Ortolan like Max Rebo, Leland Chee of the Lucasfilm Story Group confirmed Neel's species was its own alien race,[2] which was later also confirmed by the series' creator Christopher Ford.[5] The species was finally identified on January 16, 2025, after the season finale, "The Real Good Guys," via Collider.[3]
