Kinro was a comet that was predicted to carve a path through the Core Worlds eons before the Galactic Civil War. Before the comet reached the Mid Rim, the Jedi Order banded together and willed it apart. Several Jedi lost their lives or minds while breaking the comet apart.[1] The remnants of Kinro formed an asteroid field that orbited the planet Akiva in the Outer Rim's Akiva system.[2]
During 3 ABY,[3] the scoundrel Kay Vess salvaged a cargo crate from the debris field which contained the materials to apply a "Verdant Cover" paint scheme to a EML-850 light freighter. Vess also recovered a recording of Clone Wars era communication from the droid C-5DS to Supervisor Poreni about the performance of a batch of B-series battle droids constructed on Akiva.[4]
Shortly after the Battle of Endor, the Oculus, a Carrack-class light cruiser, took refuge in the comet's debris.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kinro was first mentioned in the 2015 Aftermath novel by Chuck Wendig. The debris field later appeared as in the Akiva orbit map in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[4]
