- "Barrister Snoil. You are aware of the case of Gadon Three?"
"Yes. But there are at least four cases that might have some application here. Please be more specific."
"A matter of breakaway Kif miners."
"Ah, yes. Approximately fifty standard years ago, the miners began selling high-energy ores on the open market. Some of these ores found their way to a colony allied with enemies of the Gadon regime. The Gadons came to the Republic for a ruling, and it was adjudged that the intent of the original sale had been above reproach. Therefore the final disposition of the ores was not the responsibility of the miners." - ―G'Mai Duris and Doolb Snoil
Kif was a high-energy ore mined at Gadon 3.[2]
Behind the scenes
The name of kif was introduced via a mention of "Kif miners" in Steven Barnes' 2004 novel The Cestus Deception of the Clone Wars multimedia project.[1] 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia subsequently introduced the name's decapitalized form, "kif," and confirmed that it was in fact the name of[2] the type of ore that the novel had associated with the miners.[1]
