Hintis IV was the fourth planet from the Hintis star, situated somewhat near the Nihil Occlusion Zone. For thousands of years, it was home to a vast and thriving civilization, but the people began to flee as Hintis started dying circa 430 BBY. The entire planet was evacuated with the help of the Republic around 280 BBY.[2]After the evacuation, the Republic established a scientific outpost in the ruins of the city Belax to study the dying sun. During the Nihil conflict, the Republic Defense Coalition used this outpost as a temporary base, as Hintis IV was close enoguht to the Occlusion Zone so that fighters could be scrambled from the base, but not so close that it would be under immediate threat from the Nihil raiders. The radiation from the dying star also affected unshielded sensors, helping hide the base from enemies.[1]
The bloated, dying sun cast red light over the surface of Hintis IV, which was cratered and fizzing. After the evacuation, creeping vines and roots began to reclaim the city ruins.[1]
