- "I'm old enough, I first came here, you could drive in across the wasteland. They had a groundcarry. Drive right through. That was no bargain either. You'd make the round trip and taste it a week later. Just nasty. Now it's this."
- ―Willi
A groundcarry was a type of ground vehicle used to transport passengers. When the propulsion provider Willi first visited the planet Ferrix,[1] he[2] traveled into[1] Ferrix City[3] by driving across the wastelands surrounding the city in a groundcarry. Using the service was expensive, and a round trip cost enough to leave a nasty taste in Willi's mouth a week later.[1]
By 5 BBY,[4] the groundcarry had been replaced by shuttle ferries as the means of reaching Ferrix City. While traveling on one such shuttle[1] that year,[4] Willi told his fellow passenger Luthen Rael about the groundcarry he had previously used and its cost.[1]
Behind the scenes
A groundcarry was mentioned in "That Would Be Me,"[1] the second episode of the first season of the Disney+ series Andor, which aired on September 21, 2022.[5]
