The Gillypod was a plant native to the electromagnetic wind–swept[1] Outer Rim Territories[2] planet Zeffo. It inhabited the grassy areas within the Windswept Ruins, a location that housed the ruins of ancient structures created by the Zeffonian species. The plant had several torus-shaped leaves with pink flowers on top of the red stems in the center of each leaf.[1]
In 14 BBY,[3] during the crew of the luxury yacht Stinger Mantis's mission to rebuild the Jedi Order, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis collected a Gillypod seed from the Windswept Ruins on Zeffo. Kestis planted the seed in a terrarium owned by his companion Greez Dritus aboard the Mantis. Kestis collected several seeds, including the Gillypod seed, to repay Dritus for his assistance during the Mantis crew's mission.[1][4] In 9 BBY,[5] after the crew split up, Dritus settled in a cantina on the planet Koboh, and replanted the Gillypod in a pot within the cantina's basement.[4]
