Gauge was a human[2] male stormtrooper of the First Order who served as a lieutenant. During the First Order-Resistance War, Lieutenant Gauge operated on Batuu, serving as the leader of stormtroopers there.[3] Gauge's role was to run a First Order re-education facility, with the purpose of kidnapping and brainwashing Batuuans to force them to fight for the First Order. To Gauge, the facility was a way to instill the First Order's ideals of order, which he considered real freedom, in the local population and continue the regime's legacy. After the bartender Seezelslak was kidnapped, a droid repair technician rescued him. The technician killed Gauge and destroyed the facility.[4]
Equipment
Gauge was equipped with a red visor on his helmet, a communications relay on the right side of his helmet, and a double-sided red pauldron.[3]
