Daxam IV,[1] also referred to simply as Daxam,[2] was a cold, desert planet in the Outer Rim Territories, at the edge of its binary star system.[1] It was connected by hyperspace route to Rior and Azzameen Station,[2] and was also near the planet Pamarthe. Consequently, many Pamarthen pilots were recruited to work there.[1]
By 28 ABY,[3] Daxam IV had joined the New Republic. Despite the planet's self-reliance and limited off-planet commerce, it was aligned with the Centrists, which favored a stronger galactic government and idealized the old Galactic Empire. During this time, the world was also home to the Amaxines, a paramilitary and terrorist group that was secretly aligned with the First Order.[1]

Del Rey (@DelReyStarWars) on Twitter (post): "So excited to have @claudiagray writing a #StarWars novel with us. SW: New Republic: Bloodline coming 2016. Set 6 years before TFA." (screenshot) establishes that the events of Bloodline take place six years before the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the events of The Force Awakens to 34 ABY, so Bloodline must take place in 28 ABY.
