- ―Darja, to Alora as their transport approaches Chandel
Chandel was a planet[3] in the galaxy with water covering its surface. It appeared blue from space.[1] Bev Kranti clams, which produced valuable pearls, could be found buried in the seabed beneath Chandel's ocean.[2] In 3 BBY,[4] a Taylander shuttle heading for Chandel was stopped by an Imperial-class Star Destroyer and boarded by the Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother, two Imperial Jedi hunting Inquisitors. The pair captured the Force-sensitive youngling Alora, taking the child from her grandmother, Darja, before the two could reach the world. Shortly after the attack, the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano followed decoded coordinates to Chandel after intercepting Imperial transmissions from[1] the planet[5] Mustafar. Above Chandel, she discovered the derelict shuttle and spoke with Darja about the incident before vowing to recover the child.[1]
Behind the scenes
Chandel first appeared in "The Future of the Force,"[1] the tenth episode of the Star Wars Rebels animated television series' second season[6] that premiered on December 2, 2015.[7] Although the planet's name was not used in the episode,[1] it was identified in the ensuing Episode Guide on StarWars.com.[6]
