Caraad was a planet located in the Interior and Colonies regions of the galaxy.
Description
A cold and mountainous world, Caraad[5] was located in the Interior[2] and Colonies regions of the galaxy in grid square L-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid. It was connected to Palanhi[1] and the Thrinittik system[6] by the Shwuy Exchange hyperspace route.[3] Caraad included a city. Built amongst the planet's snowy peaks, the city had speeder traffic, residential housing, and markets with vendors selling food, flowers, and more. In addition to the cold, the planet was also windy.[4]
History
Around 18 BBY,[7] the Tarlafar Ailish took their child Bayrn with them to a market when Bayrn was involved in an incident where multiple citizens witnessed his Force-sensitivity. Hurrying home, the two left the market, unaware that an Aqualish resident had reported the incident to a tip line for class one bounty hunters. That night, the bounty hunter Cad Bane and his butler droid Todo 360 traveled to Caraad and kidnapped the child, delivering them to the Galactic Empire and collecting the M-count bounty reward for retrieval of Force-sensitive targets.[4]
Inhabitants
Caraad was home to Arcona, Aqualish, Bith, humans, Pantorans, Rodians, and Tarlafar.[4]
Behind the scenes
Caraad first appeared in "Identity Crisis,"[4] the eleventh episode of the third season of the animated television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which premiered on April 3, 2024.[8] Although unnamed in the episode,[4] Caraad was identified via the Databank on StarWars.com.[5]

- ↑ Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least twenty-one standard days following her capture as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to
"Confined" Trivia Guide | Star Wars The Bad Batch on StarWars.com (backup link), Omega spends about 164 further days in captivity by the end of "Confined." As such, the events of Season 3 must begin around 18 BBY.
