CX squad

The CX squad^[2] was a special forces squad of the Galactic Empire created of a batch of clone assassins of the Advanced Science Division's Clone X trooper division. The CX squad was first deployed by Dr. Royce Hemlock during Clone Force 99's rescue of Omega and clone prisoners. The squad was made up of CX-2, Sniper CloneX3, Sniper CloneX4, Sniper CloneX5, and another Clone X trooper.^[1] During the skirmish on Wayland, the entire squad of troopers were activated by Royce Hemlock. Through the combined efforts of Clone Force 99, Vik, and the other clone prisoners at Tantiss Base, the squad was wiped out.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The CX squad first appears in the Star Wars: The Bad Batch episode "The Cavalry Has Arrived."^[1] During production, one of the Kiner siblings, either Sean or Deana Kiner, took to calling the squad "the Worst Batch," which the Kiner in question later reflected either amused or annoyed Brad Rau.^[4] The appearance of the CX squad in the episode was first hinted at to the Star Wars fandom in a post by the Kiners^[5] as part of a series of cryptic tweets that hint at upcoming Bad Batch episodes.^[6]
