Shamda was the leader of the nomadic tribe who live in the once-Ancient city of Vis Uban.

He and Khordib found a naked Dr. Daniel Jackson in the forest and allowed him to join their tribe. Since his memory had been wiped and could not remember his name, they called him "Arrom", meaning "naked one". When SG-1 visited Vis Uban in their search for the Lost City of the Ancients. He and his people were relocated to another planet by Stargate Command so they could lure Anubis to Vis Uban. (SG1: "Fallen")
