Sam was the name given to a male Flagisallus—named by Dr. Rodney McKay after Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter—who located Rodney when he was trapped underwater in a Puddle Jumper, an act which led the Lt. Colonel John Sheppard and Dr. Radek Zelenka to find McKay. (SGA: "Grace Under Pressure")
Sam was later one of the many flagisallus to seek shelter under the shield of Atlantis when the Lantean Star was about to send out a coronal mass ejection which would have killed him and the others of his kind. (SGA: "Echoes")
