M2S-445 is a planet designated by the Tau'ri in the Pegasus galaxy with a Stargate. The planet inhabits a star system, along with at least two other planets, including a gas giant. The planet has at least one moon.
History
The planet was once home to an unknown race of Humans who were presumably culled or wiped out by the Wraith a long time ago and was left abandoned. This was one of several planets in which Michael Kenmore set up facilities into research on his Hybrids. This was the base in which Michael planned to kill Teyla Emmagan after she gave birth to her son. However, after Lt. Colonel John Sheppard's accidental visit to 48,000 years in the future, he knew about the location and sent the team there to save Teyla, who was captured by Michael. Their arrival triggered a collapse of the building around them. (SGA: "The Last Man")
Atlantis was notified of the collapse by Lt. Edison, in which Colonel Samantha Carter ordered a team to save any survivors. Sheppard, Ronon Dex, Dr. Rodney McKay and Major Evan Lorne survived the collapse and were subsequently saved, McKay and Lorne by the team and Sheppard and Ronon by the Daedalus transporter. The Battle of M2S-445 occurred here resulting in the destruction of Michael's cruiser by the Daedalus and the rescue of Teyla. (SGA: "Search and Rescue")
In the facility, Michael had a pathogen which consumes a being into a cocoon which spreads to create a Wraith Hive Ship. The collapse of the facility released the pathogen into the atmosphere, forcing all members of the rescue team to be infected with it. Dr. Carson Beckett was able to create a phage to counteract the pathogen. (SGA: "The Seed")
Alternate timeline
- In an alternate timeline, Atlantis didn't locate M2S-445 until around two months after Lt. Colonel John Sheppard was sent into the future. By the time they located the planet, Michael had abandoned it, taking Teyla's baby and leaving her body in his abandoned facility on the planet. (SGA: "The Last Man")
