Hardesh

A Hardesh is a device of Goa'uld design and worn by high-ranking members of the race.

Overview

When activated, it projected a kinetic shield that completely absorbed enemy energy and fast projectile weapon fire.^[1] However, due to the constraints of producing such a shield, it was limited to only 8 minutes time before the device needed to be shut off. (Stargate Resistance)

The shield was vulnerable to slow moving projectiles such as poisoned nanites deployed by Mk 2 Sabins. It was also vulnerable to the pressure wave of nearby explosives, as the shield was tuned to allow the wearer to move through the air around them and allowed them to breath within it.^[1]

If a person discharged a Goa'uld weapon while wearing a Hardesh, the shield would automatically shut down and it would take a moment before the shield could be used again.^[1]
