He and roughly 80 people were forced to evacuate Icarus Base during an attack against the base by three Lucian Alliance Ha'tak vessels. He ended up on the Destiny, an Ancient spaceship located several billion light years from Earth. (SGU: "Air, Part 1")
Dr. Nicholas Rush accused Colonel Everett Young of ordering Gorman to poke around in the Destiny's weapons systems. (SGU: "Darkness")
When he encountered dust bugs aboard the ship, he shot at them several times, but there was no effect. In response to this aggressive behavior the dust bugs lethally wounded him. He died at approximately 03:00 hours ship time, succumbed to injuries. (SGU: "Water")
