Crypteia

The Crypteia was a secret police force that operated on the planet Aegis and served as an internal security agency for the Goa'uld System Lord Pelops. They were known to operate amongst the Spartan population, and executed or murdered any Helots that demonstrated the capacity of being free thinkers.^[1]

The Crypteia didn't wear the traditional Jaffa armor, nor did they carry staff weapons.^[2] (RPG: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords")

• 'Crypt' is the Ancient Greek root meaning 'hidden' or 'secret'.
