Europe was a continent on Earth.
Europe was made up of numerous countries, including the United Kingdom, France and Italy. (TV: Intelligent Listening for Beginners, AUDIO: The Stuff of Life) While most European countries existed on the main continent, there existed island nations, such as the United Kingdom, which itself was connected to France via the Channel Tunnel. To the west of Europe, there existed a large ocean. Europe itself was a lush green continent, unlike other continents like Africa, which was known for being drier. (WC: Star Cops The High Frontier, AUDIO: Death in the Desert)
Numerous European countries had worked together to build and man European space stations, such as the Charles de Gaulle and the Vasco da Gama. They were not exclusively manned by Europeans, with American ISPF officer David Theroux having worked on the Charles de Gaulle, rather than the American space station the Ronald Reagan. (TV: An Instinct for Murder, AUDIO: One of Our Officers is Missing) The European Space Liaison had also set up the ESL network, that seemed to be a form of intranet for European space stations, used by scientists, technicians and law enforcement officers alike. Not all European countries trusted one-another on the political stage, with many distrusting Alexander Krivenko upon his new appointment as Moonbase Coordinator. This was because Krivenko was a Russian, or a "Soviet". However, Nathan Spring, Commander of the ISPF, knew full well that a person should be judged on their character and not upon their ethnicity. He found Krivenko polite and hard-working, despite the ongoing disputes between the ISPF and a Moonbase Coordinator in regards to how Moonbase should be run. (TV: Trivial Games and Paranoid Pursuits)
