Star Cops originated as a police drama series, broadcast on 6 July 1987, set on Earth and in Space some forty years into the future. It followed Nathan Spring, a police chief superintendent who finds himself catapulted into the job of Commander of the International Space Police Force, who everyone affectionately calls the Star Cops.
Over the span of nine episodes, we see Nathan meet new colleagues and friends. He goes through trials and tribulations. But it doesn't just end there. Despite being cancelled after nine episodes (and one unfilmed episode, thanks to industrial action at the BBC), it returned once more in audio format in 2018. Nathan's adventures are more epic than ever, seeing him take on terrorist organisations, visiting Mars and even solving an Agatha Christie style murder mystery on the Moon.
