Mr. Gunther Fitz[1] is a fish on the Board of Boating, whom has control of Mrs. Puff and her boating school. He first appears in the episode "Mrs. Puff, You're Fired.
Description
He is a light orange fish with a dark orange dorsal fin and a black mustache. He wears a lime green shirt with a striped purple necktie and teal pants.
Role in series
"Mrs. Puff, You're Fired"
He comes to see how Mrs. Puff's boating school is running and he says there is an unusually large amount of failings in her class, due to SpongeBob failing the boating test 1,258,056 times. He revokes her teaching license and replaces her with another teacher.
He is later shown in a sequence with Sergeant Roderick and SpongeBob, where the latter destroys Bikini Bottom because of his reckless driving after realizing that he can only drive blindfolded, and after seeing SpongeBob failing the test even with their best teacher, he rehires Mrs. Puff.
"SpongeBob's Place"
He's seen as a patron of SpongeBob's Place in the rough storyboard.[2]
"Life Insurance"
He appears on SpongeBob's TV in the life insurance commercial, telling SpongeBob about the aforementioned concept. SpongeBob then signs two contracts Mr. Fitz offers through the TV screen, and he ends up giving the second one to Patrick.
Trivia
- Gunther Fitz's first name is never mentioned in the episode "Mrs. Puff, You're Fired," but the closing credits reveal it.
- In the closing credits of "Life Insurance," he is credited as "TV Salesman."
- Also, Mr. Fitz is voiced by Rodger Bumpass in "Life Insurance" instead of Dee Bradley Baker, who originally voiced him in "Mrs. Puff, You're Fired."
