The Saloon in Miradero has red swinging doors and red horseshoe designs on the capitals of its green exterior wooden columns, which hold up a balcony.
After selling Spirit for $1,000 at the Bi-Annual Equine Auction in Cannon City, Grayson boasted he had made enough money to buy the saloon "and all the people in it."[1]
When she was bored, Lucky bounced a red rubber ball against the window of the saloon twice until Señor Carrots stole the ball and ran away.[2]
One summer evening, Grayson visits the saloon and plays cards with two other gentlemen--one named Conway. They both laugh when they see that Grayson has flowers put on his hat by Abigail. Angry and humiliated, Grayson throws his hat on the ground.[3]
Location
The saloon is variously shown as being on the edge of town surrounded by vacant lots on both sides,[4] near the center of town just one building away from the Town Square and its fountain,[1] and across the street from Mr. Winthrop's General Store.[2]
