Dolgon is a True Dark Spectrobe created by Krux. It is battled near the end of Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals and serves as one of the game’s proper final bosses.
Appearance

Dolgon bears similarities to a whale, with rather monstrous additions. On the top of its head is a horn with a second dragon-like head on it. On its back are a pair of wings, and in front of those are a pair of tentacle-like arms with large cannon like plates attached, from which it fires energy from. In contrast to the whitish-Gray coloration Dolgan sports, Dolgon has a striking yellow-gold coloration. Its true size, as well as the appearance of its lower body, is unknown, as it is fought partially-emerged through a Portal on the ground.
Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals
Rallen’s journey to stop Nanairo’s second Krawl invasion eventually leads him face to face with Krux in his palace on Malik. Krux exposits that, after much research and experimentation "in the dark, distant corners of time and space”, Krux created Dolgon and its siblings Dolgan and Kragon out of both Krawl and Spectrobes to be the "ultimate creatures”. Seeing the Spectrobe Master as a fitting test of his creations, he summons Dolgon and Dolgan in a Dark Vortex to battle Rallen’s Spectrobes. Despite their strength, the True Dark Spectrobes are defeated in battle, though whether they were killed or merely returned to Krux’s Prizmod is unknown.
After defeating the tandem Dolgon and Dolgan in battle, Rallen is forced to face the strongest True Dark Spectrobe, Kragon.
Attacks and Abilities
When in battle, only one of the True Dark Spectrobes is active at a time; the two switch whenever one performs an attack. The inactive True Dark Spectrobe fully submerges into its Portal, rendering it immune to attack. Dolgon only utilizes ranged attacks during the battle. It normally attacks by spinning in a circle whilst firing its laser cannons at its sides, leaving a visible ring of energy on the ground that explodes, dealing damage and knocking back any Spectrobes near it. It may also fire two yellow orbs of energy from its blasters. Dolgon's "CH Attack" involves firing a trio of massive lasers in a straight line across the battlefield (one from its mouth and the other two from its arm cannons). The True Dark Spectrobes also have a Combination Attack, which involves two pillars of dark energy rising from the ground with several small explosions going off in the air around them. Dolgon and Dolgan can also restore each other’s health by giving up some of their own.
Trivia
- Dolgon and Dolgan seem to have had their health icons swapped at some point, as Dolgon's health features a sprite that resembles Dolgan, and Dolgan's health has a sprite next to it that looks more like Dolgon.
- Dolgon is neither seen nor mentioned after Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, leaving its ultimate fate unknown.
