Vegaron

Vegaron (ベガロン, Begaron) is an alligator-like Kaiju who first appeared in episode 36 of Spectreman.

Design

Vegaron has a crocodile-like head, brownish eyes, green scales, webbed claws and has double wings which vaguely resemble Dorako's, but completely red.

Powers/Weapons

Toxic Webs: Vegaron can shoot toxic webs from the tips of it’s webbed fingers
Regeneration: Vegaron seem to have regeneration capabilities, as in its first encounter with Spectreman, the monster was blown to pieces with Spectre Flash, but still return to life. During the second battle, Spectreman grabbed it by the tail and spin the beast to fast it was ripped from it, but had regenerated from it by the third and final encounter.

History

Episode 36

As Moonthunder and Spectreman fell into a volcano while fighting each other, they both died. Dr. Gori unleashed Vegaron to finish the humans, promising the monster unlimited food as he knew that nothing can stop his monsters now. Suddenly, the revived Spectreman came and defeated Vegaron.

Episode 37

Dr. Gori sent Vegaron to guard his base, so Spectreman had to come and defeat him. They fought each other. Vegaron used his toxic webs and injured Spectreman's leg, and that gave Vegaron a chance to attack. After a long fight, Spectreman defeated Vegaron.

Trivia

Vegaron reuses Zeron’s roar.
Vegaron's is the subject of bloopers in some scenes after it lost the Wing membrane to Spectreman in the first encounter, been seeing still having it on after reviving, but then mysteriously disappearing in the subsequent battles with the hero Cyborg; these may had been early footage film with the full suit before the first battle.
The Episode marks the moment the Pollution Squad is task to deal with the problem of the monsters as well becoming more aware of the alien threat to Earth.
The Episode marks the introduction of Sally into the team, replacing Margaret, who in turn took over for Rita.
