History
Renata was the life partner of Hesh Rabkin for many years, living together at his house in Essex County. Unlike many of the wives and goomars of Hesh's mob associates, Renata and Hesh were genuinely in love and cared for each other's well-being.
During Hesh's feud with Tony Soprano over his failure to pay back a $200,000 loan, Renata tells Hesh to not let it get him upset. When Hesh saw Tony and his underboss Bobby Baccalieri making an unannounced visit to their house a few days later, Hesh urged Renata to lock herself in the upstairs bedroom until she heard back from him. One morning, Hesh woke up to use the bathroom before going to ask Renata, who was still in bed, what she wanted for breakfast, only to realize she wasn’t breathing, having died in her sleep. Hesh repeatedly called out her name in despair before he phoned 911, all the while clutching Renata's hand and sobbing. Tony arrives the same day to repay his debt in full to a grieving Hesh.
