THQ Inc. was an American company that dealt with the development and publication of video games. It was founded in April, 1990, by Jack Friedman, who also founded Jakks Pacific. THQ developed products for video game platforms, PC and mobile devices. On 20 December 2012 though, the company declared bankruptcy. Later, in 2014, the THQ trademark was acquired by Nordic Games. The company itself was later renamed THQ Nordic in 2016.
In the Sonic the Hedgehog series, THQ internationally distributed Sonic games released for the Game Boy Advance.
