The Speed Shoes[1] are objects mentioned in the anime series Sonic X. They are a pair of shoes designed by Chris Thorndyke for Sonic the Hedgehog.
Description
As noted by Chris, the shoes' soles are made of a special substance that increases the friction with the ground, allowing the user to run even faster than normal.[1]

The Speed Shoes were invented by Chris Thorndyke after studying Sonic's shoes in order to aid Sonic. About six years after Sonic's departure from earth, Chris showed the Speed Shoes' schematics to Helen, who took a liking to them.[1]
Trivia
- The description of the Speed Shoes is very similar to the effects of the Power Sneaker power-up in the Sonic video games, hinting they may be the anime's counterpart of said power-up.
