Performance Designed Products (or simply PDP), is a North American company based in Los Angeles that designs and manufactures video game accessories, best known for headsets and controllers.[1] In 2017, PDP starting producing merchandise for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Sonic products
One of PDP's brands is their Pixel Pals series; collectible light-up pixel renditions of characters from well-known franchises. In November 2017, PDP released one based on Sonic the Hedgehog. It uses a modified version of Sonic's original Sega Mega Drive sprite, and it is number fourty in the Pixel Pals series. Renditions of Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna were on display at E3 2018.
Various Sonic merchandise was on display at Sega's booth at Licensing Expo 2019, including products from IDW Publishing, Kidrobot and Diamond Select Toys. The first look at PDP's Sonic Wired Fight Pad Pro controller was also on display, being a Nintendo GameCube inspired controller based on Sonic.[2] It was the first Nintendo controller by PDP not to be based on a Nintendo series, and released in July 2019.
