The Octopod is an enemy that was set to appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Overview
The Octopod loosely resembles an octopus, with a round "head" and only four "tentacles" rather than eight. Its animations indicate its lower "legged" segment may have been able to detach.
At some point, a boss in Sonic X-treme was also to be named "Octopod"; it is unknown what relation, if any, the common Badnik had with the boss. The sprites for the Octopod boss first appeared in images from the early Sonic Mars stage of the game's development.
