Great Green

The Great Green is an object that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It is a prominent and large palm tree that houses the Boscage Maze Shard in its roots.

Appearance

The Great Green is a palm tree of small size compared to the other massive foliage in the Boscage Maze, but still large for its size. The Great Green has wide green leaves, a thin brown trunk, and its roots emit the same colourful aura as the ones the Regulators on Sonic's shoes do, due to a Prism Shard being hidden there.

Season one

The Great Green is first mentioned by Thorn Rose when she notices the aura emitted by Sonic's shoes and compares the two. Sonic believes that this "Great Green" is actually the Shard as his shoes glow whenever there is one nearby. Thorn agrees to help Sonic find it, only because it means he leaves her jungle. Sonic follows Thorn through the extremely dense jungle until they finally come across a clearing with the massive palm. Upon seeing it, ,Sonic is astonished and Thorn chimes in that its "magnificent". The closer they get to it, the more Sonic's shoes pulsate with energy, which leads him to believe the Shard is buried within the tree's roots. He quickly burrows a hole to dig it out and grabs a leaf to wrap it in so he won't be transported to another Gateway upon touching it. Sonic returns with the Shard and Thorn is fascinated with it, quickly claiming it for herself. Soon after, Thorn is bent on making sure the Scavengers have no way to get to the floor of the jungle by making sure the canopy blocked out all light. Sonic doesn't get how she's not understanding why he is telling them they need to live together in harmony, and exclaims that he is going to talk to the Great Green about it, in which Thorn angrily shouts he better stay away from it. Upon reaching the palm, Sonic comments on how the tree looks a bit wilted from not getting a lot of light, and he mentions the tree is part of his plan and for it to trust him. Thorn then shows up and threatens rather menacingly for Sonic to step away from the tree. Sonic races up to the top and teases that she will have to make him. Thorn, furious that Sonic would disrespect her tree, flings her hammer at him when he prompts her to. Sonic Spin Attacks into the hammer and breaks off the top knocking a large hole in the canopy and basking the Great Green in sunlight. When seeing the sunlight enter the jungle, Thorn realizes just how much damage she was causing to her beloved jungle and apologizes to the rest of the scavengers, the Great Green and other plants flourishing in the light.
