History
Out of the Blue
Shortly after the Metal Virus plague ended, Shadow the Hedgehog came to Forest Hill alone. He was later found by Rouge the Bat, who informed him that the recently defeated Deadly Six were laying low and not causing much trouble, but she could not find Sonic the Hedgehog or E-123 Omega anywhere. When Shadow did not answer, Rouge questioned if he was actually listening, to which he stated that he was. She remarked that he was brooding more than usual and asked why. Thinking to himself, Shadow reminisced on how he ignored Sonic's advice to run in case of a Metal Virus infection. Shadow believed this to be cowardice, not a warning, and so refused to run after being infected. His mistake resulted in him becoming a Zombot, taking him out of the fight, and although he and the Metal Virus' other victims were cured upon its destruction, Shadow was in disbelief at how he, the "Ultimate Lifeform", had miscalculated so horribly. When Rouge said that if he could not talk about it, she would leave it be, Shadow turned to her and said that he owed Sonic, but now he was gone and that was all to it. Rouge then told Shadow of a party being hosted at Spiral Hill Village that night, but he declined to attend, and they parted ways.[1]
